If you don’t know who Tavi Gevinson is, all you need to know is you’ll be seeing/hearing a lot more of her, and fast!
The 16-year-old triple threat best known as the teen behind American fashion blog www.thestylerookie.com, took over the fashion scene at the young age of 13. With her unique sense of fashion, and her fearless personal style, Gevinson’s message that it’s okay to be different or quirky, as long as it’s you, spread through the blogosphere like wild-fire.
At 15, she founded www.rookiemag.com, a magazine featuring everything from music, photography, art to books, you name it! She is also a model, writer, photographer, all while getting her homework done on time.
Like she doesn’t already have enough on her plate, the teen dream will be headed to the big screen starring in her first feature film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Not much has been revealed about the movie in question, but writer/director Nicole Holofcener says she’ll be playing a character name Chloe, “an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to grow up faster than her peers” as stated on Fashionista.com.
Much excitement and hype has been swirling around Gevinson’s upcoming performance. She has successfully made her mark when it comes to style,but will she have the acting chops to pull it off? We think so. It should be apparent to anyone after watching her recent appearance as a guest at TEDx Teen, that this multi-dimensional chick will be a force to be reckoned with when she finally does figure it all out.
