Beach to Bonfire Wave

The perfect hair fix after a morning at the beach. Make sure you have at least a few hours to leave this one in and that your headband isn’t too tight, the band should stay on your head but still allow enough room for all your hair to loop through. If you have longer hair, like Brooke, and there’s no getting around a tightened bad, use cotton pads like we did to avoid an indent.

1) Prepare the hair with a texture-enhancing product (curl cream,
scrunching gel, beach spray – we used Kevin.Murphy Hair Resort). Comb/brush out tangles.

2) Place elastic/stretch soft headband like so.

3) Take section of hair (1/4″- 1/2″) starting at hairline.

4) Wrap hair around headband from outside to inside, tucking hair under
the headband.

5) Repeat along side of head, continually grabbing some new hair with
previous section. Wet slightly if hair begins to dry too quickly. Repeat on other side.

6) This is about where you should meet up in the back!

7) Comb/brush out tangles! If hair has been starting to dry too much,
spray with leave-in conditioner to re-moisten.

8) Twist pony in two sections, like a rope braid.

9-10) Wrap/tuck rope braid through and around headband until the tail is hidden.

11) The finished product, so far!

12) To avoid awkward elastic lines on your forehead, place cotton pads on
forehead! Kill some time, relax, take a nap

13) After napping, remove headband.

14) It may take a few minutes, as it tends to get tangley when unraveling.

15) Brush out waves.

16) Et Voila! Beautiful beachy waves worthy of a night out!
